INVITATION TO YOU:
On Friday, May 16, 2008, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. you are invited to attend the next "The Vibe" event, a City sponsored event designed to celebrate the revitalization of Sports Town on Kern Street in Downtown Fresno. This event is being advertised City-wide for all to attend and we have sent invitations to local community organizations. We welcome you, your staff and your families to be a part of this event as well.
Our event is called The VIBE at Sports Town on Kern Street to acknowledge that we are revitalizing an area of the Downtown with a new energy. The theme of the area, a sports venue, begins with Chukchansi Park and extends to N Street via Kern Street.
We are excited about what we believe to be a new VIBE in the Downtown and the start of many more similar events in the future. These events are geared to get people Downtown in the evenings and future events to keep people coming Downtown.
The streets that will be closed during the event are: M Street between Tulare and Inyo Streets, Kern Street between N Street and Van Ness Avenue, L Street between Tulare and Inyo Streets and the alleys between Tulare and Inyo Streets. (Van Ness Avenue will remain open.) With the closure of the streets, there will be parking available at the City parking structure (behind the Saroyan Theater) at Inyo and O Streets. We have asked that surrounding businesses stay open while the event is going on to advertise and/or promote their business.
Attached is a flyer for more details of what you will find at the next The Vibe. This will be the second of 5 'VIBE' events on Kern St. this summer (The future dates are June 27th, July 18th & August 22nd - all dates are home game nights for the Grizzlies).
